Global Citizens - Make an Impact!
Inter-dependency and Globalisation
What's it got to do with me?
We rely on people in different countries, all over the world, every day of our lives. Sometimes without even realising it! We rely on other countries for the clothes we wear, the food we eat and the technology we use. What goes on in other countries affects us more than we might think!
The Global Citizenship Interactive!
Read this introduction and the Teacher's Notes (downloadable below) first, to get the most from this interactive classroom game!
The Global Citizenship Interactive takes inspiration from the Martin Luther King quotation
“Before you finish eating breakfast in the morning, you’ve depended on more than half the world”.
It highlights our dependency on other parts of the world for products which we use on a daily basis and may take for granted.
The interactive is primarily intended for use in the classroom, as a teaching aid. It can be used by Teachers to introduce pupils to the concepts of global inter-dependency and fair trade. It can also be used by pupils, with supervision by Teachers.
The interactive is designed for key stages 1 and 2, but can of course be used by older pupils!
