Learning Outcomes
Knowledge and Understanding
Pupils will develop:
- Knowledge and understanding of what it means to be a “Global Citizen”
- Knowledge and understanding of the key citizenship issues associated with the new Contemporary Galleries at Wilberforce House (modern day slavery, products of slavery and fair trade, identity and diversity, racism and discrimination, human rights and global inter-dependency)
Skills
Pupils will develop:
- Skills in communication and participation, in effective listening and responding and in negotiation and cooperation
- Pupils will gain the skills of problem solving and informed decision making
- Pupils will develop active citizenship skills by means of discussion and debate, as well as through the investigation of historic and modern-day campaigning
Attitudes and Values
This learning journey and its resources promote:
- The attitudes of respect and tolerance, empathy and understanding
- Of valuing the opinions and beliefs of others
- Pupils will learn to value the fact that we live in an increasingly inter-dependent world

This learning journey is intended to present information to primary and secondary school pupils in an entertaining and inspiring way. Pupils may be:

- Inspired to think about citizenship topics in a more creative manner

- Be inspired to further investigate some of the issues or to join in a campaign or debate
