Description:

Shibden Hall is one of Halifax's most important historic homes and has been a family residence since 1420. This half-timbered building is set in a beautiful park and woodland with a boating lake, miniature railway and children's play area.


Shibden Hall and Folk Museum are packed with wonderful collections of carved oak furniture, books, paintings, toys, horse drawn carriages and trade tools.

Learning Programmes:
The education team at Shibden Hall offer a range of historical workshops for Key Stage 1 and 2. All workshops are interactive and are presented by costumed characters. Subjects range from life as a Victorian servant through to Tudor costumes and toys.
