1984 Miners' Strike Symbol of support

Detail of a sugar bag sent to the NUM by a mining family in Italy, after having seen the plight of the British Miners broadcast on Italian news channels. It was then distributed by the NUM to a mining family in Bentley, Doncaster. This ordinary every day item has become a symbol of the international support for the families of the striking miners in 1984.
