Girl Guide WW2 Camp Light
A camping light used by Girl Guides during training for International Service expeditions during WW2, and subsequently when they went to give service in Europe, Egypt and Malaya. A candle could be lit inside and the lid put on so that the light didn't shine out of the top. The light would be directed out of the 'window' cut into the side of the metal cylinder.
