Inner Coffin Lid from Nesyamun, the Leeds Mummy
We can learn about the ancient Egyptians from inscriptions and stories on the coffins like this one from Nesyamun, the Leeds Mummy. Nesyamun has two lids to offer protection from grave robbers, bad spirits and animals. This is his inner coffin lid. It was damaged by the bomb that dropped on the museum in WW2 but luckily escaped serious damage.
