How do we Learn about Ancient Egypt?

The ancient Egyptians were a fascinating and complex people. We can learn lots about their lives and beliefs through the things they left behind. Archaeologists have dug up objects which give us clues about how Egyptians lived. Many of these clues can be seen in museums such as Leeds City Museum.

These could be everyday objects such as combs and jewellery, or more impressive looking objects like mysterious mummies, temple ruins and grand tombs, or objects covered with unfamiliar languages. We can learn all about the ancient Egyptians from the things they left behind.
