Leeds Pals NCO's and the regiment's pet goat

This photograph, taken in February 1916, shows Senior NCOs of the 15th (service) Battalion (1st Leeds) The Prince of Wales's Own (West Yorkshire Regiment), known as the 'Leeds Pals'. The soldiers are grouped outside the Sergeants' Mess. A chicken perches on the head of one of the Senior NCOs, while the regimental pet goat poses in the centre. The Colour Sergeant at the right edge is nursing a cat
