Artists Impression of Grinton Smelt Mill, Peat House, Dam and Waterworks

An artist's impression of the area around Grinton Smelt Mill during its working period. Notice the dam which provided water to the mill wheel via the wooden leats (the raised wooden troughs leading from the upper sluice to the main building) in order to drive the bellows. The large building near the dam is an old blacksmith forge which has now been demolished and removed.
