Dunbar Medal

After the battle of Dunbar, medals were produced to commemorate Cromwell’s victory over the Scots. It was the first campaign medal issued to all ranks in British military history. Gold medals were issued to senior officers, silver to junior officers, and bronze for ordinary soldiers. A likeness of Cromwell is on one side, with Parliament on the other (shown here).
