Evacuees

A group of children evacuated from an English city have reached their new location. The location at the time could not be revealed in press reports. Parents were issued with a packing list which included a gas mask, a change of underclothes, night clothes, plimsolls (or slippers), spare stockings or socks, toothbrush, comb, towel, soap, face cloth, handkerchiefs and a warm coat. Many families struggled to provide their children with all of the items listed.
