Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds

Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds was a Cistercian monastery and was founded over 800 years ago. It did not escape Henry VIIIs ‘Dissolution of the Monasteries’ and in 1539 the monks were forced to leave.
