Leather Prisoner badge from the 1800s

This leather prisoner badge is a good conduct badge. The number 10 at the top of the badge is the number of years the prisoner has been sentenced for either transportation or penal servitude. The V G represents that the prisoner’s conduct has been Very Good all the time he/she has been in the prison or hulk. The 18 is the number of months the prisoner has been on the hulks or in prison.
