Submarine SONAR Mimics Animal Echolocation

Humans often look to the animal world when developing new technologies. Scientists used echolocation as inspiration for developing SONAR technology.  In the darkness of the ocean depths, submarines can use SONAR for navigation just as many sea creatures use echolocation.
