The Leader of the Luddites

This engraving from 1815 is called ‘The Leader of the Luddites’ The larger figure is shown leading the smaller figures (the workers) forward to revolt against the threat that mechanisation of the weaving processes represented to their jobs. A mill can be seen burning in the background.
