Watercolour: 'Armed Trawlers from Hull and Grimsby'

Watercolour painting entitled 'Armed Trawlers from Hull and Grimsby' by artist Frank H Mason. The painting shows the steam trawlers 'Ameer' (left), 'Resono' (right) and 'Lord Roberts ' (centre) in action in 1915. You can see gun emplacements and a lifeboat on the 'Lord Roberts'. There are more trawlers following. There is a German taube monoplane flying above the 'Rosono' and an explosion taking place behind.

All three trawlers would be sunk by German mines with the loss of many local men.
