William Lever, Lord Leverhulme

Port Sunlight was developed by William Lever. He was born in 1851 and after working in the family grocery business, he started to specialise in selling individually wrapped bars of soap. He was innovative in his product ideas and also in his approach to business, placing importance on the well-being and health of his workers.
